– Welcome on –
La Bélandre
There have been no boats plying the Cher for 80 years. The Gabare and the Ambacia are now reviving what is already a distant past and a river tradition steeped in history. Our boats cast off from Chisseaux in Touraine (2 kilometres away from Chenonceaux) and convey you along the romantic, winding river that skirts forested and vine-covered slopes, right underneath the arches and past the world’s largest and most sumptuous Renaissance mansion (built over a river) : Chenonceau.
Commentary : Château de Chenonceau with its four main figures – The Cher history and its dams – Fauna and Flora – Touraine and its vineyards.
Despite numerous interventions by local elected officials and tourism professionals, the Prefecture refuses the installation of the dam on the Cher to allow the resumption of navigation before 27 May.
The two years of health crisis and the disappointments of tourists did not weaken their position.
Our boats remain stuck at the dock until the 27th, late morning.
We will welcome you with pleasure from that date.
